Annual Customer
Appreciation Day is May 8
TheAllison’s ACE Hardware store in Lottsburg
will be the setting for the 13th annual Customer Appreciation
Day scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2010.
Nancy Fisher, owner and manager of the
store explains the day as, “a way to show our loyal customers
how much we appreciate them. They could travel anywhere to shop,
but they honor us every time they walk through our doors”.
“The day long event starts when the
doors open at 7:30am. We’ll be giving away flowers to the
first 50 moms in the store and special gift bags to all the kids
wearing their Little League uniforms. But the fun really kicks
in around 10:00am with the arrival of Buzzie the Clown, WRAR with
their money prize wheel, and when the free hot dogs and sodas
are given out”, says Fisher.
In addition to door prizes and bargains
throughout the store, vendors and The Northern Neck Master Gardeners
will be available to answer your hardware and gardening questions.
“We certainly hope everyone will
come celebrate with us”, says Mrs. Fisher. “It is
a great way to spend a Saturday”.

Allison's owners attend Ace convention
in St. Louis
Allison’s Ace Hardware Store owners
recently returned from the National Ace Fall Convention. Nancy
Fisher and Joey Allison attended the three day conference in St
Louis, Mo., with more than 16,000 attendees and 500,000 square
feet of exhibit floor space. In addition to attending training
and strategy sessions, Ace store owners and managers had an opportunity
to see new national programs unveiled and meet with more than
1,000 vendors face-to-face.
Ace’s Chairman of the Board, David Ziegler, welcomed thousands
of retailers to the annual show announcing that Ace was voted
highest in customer satisfaction among home improvement stores
for the second straight year by J.D. Power and Associates. “This
is a huge testament to what you, the owners and managers, do in
your stores everyday to support the Ace brand”, said Ziegler.
Ace Lawn & Garden Merchandise Manager Guy Duvall devoted part
of his Friday presentation to “Helpful Earth Choices”.
“The Lawn & Garden buzzword this year is Green. The
market for eco-friendly lawn and garden products continues to
grow rapidly, and so does Ace's environmentally friendly product
line”, said Joey Allison.
ENERGY STAR, the marketing organization
supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S.
Department of Energy that promotes energy efficiency, was also
on hand to highlight a number of Ace products that are ENERGY
STAR-approved, as well as to answer any questions retailers had
about promoting green products.
“We’ve offered customers several
‘green’ promotions this year and the response was
very enthusiastic,” Fisher said. “With Ace’s
support we look forward to doing even more in 2009.”
